Saturday, June 13 marks the official opening of our
new public dog park. Open from dawn to dusk, the park will provide a
place for dogs both large and small to interact, socialize and play, play play!
The park will not have an attendant on duty so
responsible pet owners only please! Shelter staff will occasionally
monitor the park to ensure park rules are being followed.
Help us make this park an enjoyable experience for
all those who use it! Follow the posted rules, pick up after your pet and
be considerate of others!

The Circle of Friends Dog Park
is officially open! As plans for our new building evolved following the
flood of 1997, discussions included creating a dog park as a service to the
community and surrounding areas. The park is now complete and available
to provide an environment for socialization and play interaction for area
dogs. It includes separate areas for small dogs and for large dogs.
While the park does not have an
attendant on duty, shelter staff will occasionally monitor the park to see that
rules are followed. The rules are posted at the entrance to the park.
Hopefully, respect and consideration will be the order of the day to ensure
that the park is a positive experience for all involved. Please follow
posted rules and enjoy the dog park!
Copies of the rules are
available at the Circle of Friends Humane Society. Also, a PDF of the dog
park rules is available here. Dog Park Rules
