Roaming Paws Off Leash Dog Park Community Connection

Welcome to the

Circle of Friends Dog Park!

http://www.gfpets.com/

Saturday, June 13 marks the official opening of our new public dog park.  Open from dawn to dusk, the park will provide a place for dogs both large and small to interact, socialize and play, play play!

The park will not have an attendant on duty so responsible pet owners only please!  Shelter staff will occasionally monitor the park to ensure park rules are being followed.

Help us make this park an enjoyable experience for all those who use it!  Follow the posted rules, pick up after your pet and be considerate of others!

The Circle of Friends Dog Park is officially open!  As plans for our new building evolved following the flood of 1997, discussions included creating a dog park as a service to the community and surrounding areas.  The park is now complete and available to provide an environment for socialization and play interaction for area dogs.  It includes separate areas for small dogs and for large dogs.

While the park does not have an attendant on duty, shelter staff will occasionally monitor the park to see that rules are followed.  The rules are posted at the entrance to the park.  Hopefully, respect and consideration will be the order of the day to ensure that the park is a positive experience for all involved.  Please follow posted rules and enjoy the dog park!

Copies of the rules are available at the Circle of Friends Humane Society.  Also, a PDF of the dog park rules is available here. Dog Park Rules

You can also make donations on line to the Humane Society via PayPal.

Dog owners will have to wait a little longer to enjoy the Lincoln Drive dog park following this spring’s flooding. Wet conditions have kept Grand Forks Park District crews from accessing the park.  The recent dry weather and allowed the area to dry some of the area for cleaning.  The high water from this spring’s flooding left a thick layer of silt in the dog park and surrounding area and is still wet in some areas.  Crews from the Grand Forks Park District have begun removing the silt this week and will begin reseeding the area to restore the turf for use. The dog park is expected to remain closed until July 1 to allow the reestablishment of turf in the fenced area. This message is brought to you as a service of the City of Grand Forks. Please feel free to share the contents of this message with others.
